A Hastings Co-op Community Chest grant has provided a $2000 injection to Marine Rescue Port Macquarie.
The unit received one of six Hastings Co-op Community Chest grants.
Hastings Co-op CEO Allan Gordon said: "We understand that 2020 has been a very challenging time for community groups and service organisations, especially in regard to fundraising opportunities.
"Our Community Chest grants have always been about giving back to the tapestry of community groups that contribute to the Hastings way of life and everyone would agree that your group is a very worthy recipient."
Marine Rescue Port Macquarie unit commander Greg Davies said the grant would go towards the unit's operational costs.
"We are really appreciative for the money because it was a tough 2020," he said.
The global pandemic stopped fundraising activities with the unit allowed to resume fundraising just before Christmas.
The unit will contribute money towards the purchase of a new boat in 2021, in addition to fundraising to meet operational costs.
A new jet ski is required later in the year.
Marine Rescue Port Macquarie's next big fundraising event is the Australia Day activities.
