"Our aim is to help bring about a cancer-free future by completing the ultimate golfing challenge by completing four consecutive rounds of golf in one day - from dawn to dusk. That's a massive 72 holes," Brendon said.
"We'll all be testing our skill, strength and stamina to raise much needed funds to help Cancer Council realise its goal of a cancer-free future.
"And it's because Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world, with two in three Australians diagnosed with skin cancer by the age of 70 we are teeing up to help change these statistics.
"We'll be making every hole count, so won't you please sponsor our team and help us while we tee off for a cancer-free future".
Thanks to the generosity of the Hastings golfing community, family and friends, Brendon and his team of talented golfers have already raised $8685 - a figure well exceeding their target of $5000.
"These vital funds will assist Cancer Council to conduct world-class cancer research, deliver prevention campaigns and support people as they navigate their cancer journeys," Lauren Fraser, community relations coordinator, Lower Mid North Coast said.
"Your donations will help people impacted by cancer now when they need it most. Cancer Council is the only cancer organisation who supports cancer patients throughout their entire cancer journey.
"One in three Australians are diagnosed with skin cancer by the age of 70. Since 2013 golfers have raised over $2,306,333 to help cancer patients across the country."
If you think you have what it takes and would like to take on the challenge to help Cancer Council in its mission to create a cancer-free future sign up for The Long Day - 36 holes (2 rounds); The Longer Day - 54 holes (3 rounds); or the ultimate challenge - The Longest Day - 72 holes (4 rounds).
