A Port Macquarie man has pleaded guilty to a string of drug-related charges after his appearance in the Port Macquarie Local Court.

Newberry has pleaded guilty to possess a prohibited drug - allegedly found in possession of 5 grams of methamphetamine; possession of equipment for administering prohibited drug on September 7, 2020; possession of a prohibited drug on April 16, 2002 - allegedly ketamine; possession of a prohibited drug on May 24, 2020 - allegedly 7.7 grams of Gamma-Bulyrolactone at Port Macquarie; three counts of driving with illicit drug present, allegedly on January 26, 2020, November 29, 2019 and June 5, 2020 at Port Macquarie and Lake Innes; supply prohibited drug on June 5, 2020 - allegedly found in possession of 55 grams of methamphetamine; not stop vehicle when directed on June 5, 2002, at Lake Innes; and police pursuit on June 5, 2020 at Lake Innes.
Newberry has pleaded not guilty to having goods suspected stolen on June 5, 2002 - $800 in cash.
According to police facts, after stopping Newberry's vehicle on Hastings River Drive, police searched the car and allegedly located a black bag in the front passenger footwell.
"Within (the bag) was a light brown glass vial with a clear liquid within," the facts state.
"Police asked the accused what was within the vial which he replied: "It's ear droppers. I got it from the chemist".
"Police noticed the vial did not have markings or labels and questioned the accused if it was GHB - gamma-Hydroxybutyric acid - which he denied.
"Following analysis, the liquid was identified as gamma bulyrolactone weighing 7.7 grams."
Magistrate Georgina Darcy adjourned the matters against Newberry to Port Macquarie Local Court on January 28, 2021.
