The photo of member Anne Jenkinson working a scroll saw at the Women's Shed won the portrait of a rural woman competition hosted by the National Rural Women's Coalition.
The Coalition is a collaborative voice for women living in rural, remote and regional Australia.
Ann works in the health care industry but every chance she gets she is on the tools. She has become an important part of the shed: a novice woodworker a few years ago who now inspires others with her projects and teaches members at workshops.
The prizemoney will go towards a much-needed permanent shed, Ms Tighe said.
"The Women's Shed Port Macquarie was established five years ago and since then has had to move five times," she said.
"No mean or cheap feat when you have a fully-kitted out woodworker's space.
"Unfortunately, woodwork activities have had to be suspended while the Shed searches for yet another venue from which to operate.
Shedders have learned how to use tools and develop skills while making projects like knife blocks, cheese boards, jigsaw puzzles, plant stands and more.

"Shedders have learned how to use tools and develop skills while making projects like knife blocks, cheese boards, jigsaw puzzles, plant stands and more.
"The Shed also do a variety of craft-based workshops such as making beach bags, soaps, beeswax wraps, Christmas wreaths, lead lighting, card-making, crochet, knitting and sewing.
"Many items are made for other community organisations."
The sessions are casual get togethers where skills are shared along with a chat.
Members meet socially for lunch, day trips, special occasions such as the Melbourne Cup and Christmas in July.
"Our rural women are building relationships, making genuine connections, which is so important for their mental health and wellbeing, all while learning new skills," Ms Tighe said.
Port Macquarie Women's Shed are delighted with the winning entry and are happy to hear from anyone who may be able to help them find suitable permanent accommodation, a block of land or talk with potential new members.
