The daughter of Time Thief commenced a move approaching the home bend and was able to charge down the outside and withstand the finishing effort of Northern Knight to salute.
Henschel was the heavily supported favourite and dictated terms in the lead for the majority of the event before being claimed down the home running by Leave Me Some with the Grant Marshall trained galloper taking her record to three wins and five placings from eleven outings.
Undeniable was considered a definite chance in the race before fading over the concluding stages, but it wasn't all doom and gloom for the Luke Hilton stable following wins to Forged in Stone and a Cup success with Highly Desired at Coonabarabran.
Leave Me Some was perfectly ridden by Luke Rolls with the prominent hoop responsible for a riding double following the win by Doolie in the second event on the card.
Rolls positioned the Anacheeva gelding in a prominent role just behind the leaders before commencing a move around the home bend and claiming the prize to the ire of punters who plunged on the Grant Allard trained gelding, Goofy Mick.
Victory by Doolie provided Jonathon Smith with his first training victory when the former Victorian gelding was able to race clear from Being Naughty and Meydan Lass to score at bolters odds.
Majestic Shot proved her debut victory at Orange was no fluke when the daughter of Shooting to Win powered down the outside for an outstanding victory in the Col Foster Memorial.
Mitchell Bell settled the filly near the tail of the field before a paralysing burst accounted for her rivals in dominant fashion with every indication that Grant Allard has a highly promising galloper in his stable.
An exciting finish in the Athol Platt Memorial resulted in Lobban Hood gaining the photo finish result over Bangalley Lad after the pair staged an exciting duel down the home straight.
Georgina McDonnell was able to lift the Dane Fever mare over the line to score by a breath and provided the Robert Barnes trained galloper a breakthrough victory at the circuit with Bangalley Lad again relegated to the placegetters.
The day commenced well for favourite backers when Euroworld was confidently supported and gave backers no cause for fear when the son of Eurozone was able to settle off the speed before finishing over the top of Poetry in Motion to score by two lengths.
The win took Ashley Morgan's season riding tally to eleven wins and continued the great run being enjoyed by astute Novocastrian trainer, Nathan Doyle, as the gelding saluted at his second official start.
The Doyle stable completed a solid day at the track when Dylan Gibbons stayed close to the rails to score by a decisive margin on Miss Scalini in the Stephen Cook Memorial
Ciao Uno was having her first run from a four-month break in the Carlton Dry Maiden Handicap and the benefit of two positive provincial barrier trials resulted in the Kris Lees trained galloper being heavily backed into odds-on favourite.
Punters who took the short odds were never concerned as Andrew Gibbons and the Super One filly charged away from Hay John and Bouquets to score with ridiculous easy by just under six lengths.
The Lees and Gibbons combination completed the double in the following when Urbino defied a noticeable betting drift before the Dansili gelding raced clear from Prospero to land the prize.
The meeting was conducted under threatening skies with the soft track conditions and rail positioning generally racing well with early races providing advantage to horses racing on the speed negated by swoopers later in the day.
Racing continues at the Port circuit with a stand alone meeting on Thursday 12th November with an eight-event card highlighted by the Clifton Open Handicap over 1200 metres.
Race 1 - DE BORTOLI WINES MAIDEN PLATE (1500 M)
Euroworld tightened a point in betting operations to seize favouritism from Poetry in Motion with some support at longer odds for Under the Pump causing Nightmare to drift.
Ashley Morgan was able to find the early lead on Euroworld before being clearly headed by the Kris Lees trained mare, Poetry in Motion, with Double Magnum settling just off the pace in third position.
The Flasher and Melaina Rock settled behind the leading division while Luke Rolls was content to position Nightmare in the middle of the pack around Under the Pump.
Andrew Gibbons dictated terms to suit aboard Poetry in Motion as the daughter of Declaration of War led by two lengths from Melaina Rock with Euroworld travelling well in third position as the leaders raced clear from Double Magnum while Nightmare and Under the Pump continued to drift back through the field.
Poetry in Motion swung the home turn with a strong lead before Morgan extricated Euroworld into the clear with the Nathan Doyle trained gelding challenging for the lead half way down the home running and racing clear to score by around two lengths.
Poetry in Motion held on for second with Under the Pump making up good ground over the concluding stages to snatch third prize in front of Melaina Rock while Nightmare failed to fire.
Race 2 - SCHWEPPES MAIDEN HCP (1100 M)
The main move in the race for Goofy Mick who tightened noticeably to be a firm favourite over Meydan Lass with Crazeelil the only other runner under double figures.
Goofy Mick began moderately before Jon Grisdale drove the Canford Cliffs gelding to a clear lead from Isabelta Boss with Meydan Lass well positioned in front of Doolie.
Sportsman was backing up from racing at Scone on Friday and the Jeremy Sylvester trained gelding was camped just off the pace while Being Naughty and Crazeelil headed the remainder.
Goofy Mick was immediately under pressure as the field headed for home before being challenged by Isabelta Boss with Doolie commencing a run down the middle of the track and Being Naughty making ground.
Luke Rolls dashed Doolie to the lead and the Jonathon Smith trained gelding scored a comprehensive victory over Being Naughty, who made up many lengths late despite being wayward down the home running to claim second over Meydan Lass.
The winner's stablemate, Crazeelil, finished just behind the placegetters while Goofy Mick yielded ground over the concluding stages to run officially in eighth position.
Race 3 - CARLTON DRY MAIDEN HCP (1100 M)
Keen form students rated Ciao Uno as unbeatable and backed the Kris Lees trained gelding accordingly with some support at longer odds for Polariser with Hay John on the third line of betting.
Following the late scratching of Nikody's Diego at the barrier, Jeff Kehoe allowed Why Shy to claim the early lead from Ciao Uno before Blood Red Sky charged around the pair to race clear.
Hay John was travelling in the centre of the field in front of Polariser while Leah Kilner was content to allow Bouquets to drift back to the tail of the field.
Jon Grisdale and Blood Red Sky circled the home bend with a narrow lead before being challenged by Ciao Uno with Andrew Gibbons allowing the Kris Lees trained filly more leather and the Super One filly responded accordingly.
Ciao Uno broke their hearts over the concluding stages before scoring a comprehensive victory by just under six lengths over Bay John and Bouquets with both placegetters making up good ground in the run to the judge.
Race 4 - JOHN OXLEY MOTORS CLASS 1 & MAIDEN PLATE (2000 M)
Followers of the Matt Dunn stable were keen to rally for Kim Alicia with the mare backed into a firm favourite over Prospero with Urbino a drifting third elect.
Man and Superman began with his customary dash before Rory Hutchings moved up on the outside aboard Kim Alicia to dash the well-supported mare to a clear lead on the turn out of the straight.
Yulong Wall was having his second run for the Damien Lane stable and the former Victorian settled in third place in front of Phylave with Urbino and Prospero obtaining relatively soft runs in the middle of the field.
Rory Hutchings was able to dictate terms to suit aboard Kim Alicia with the Matt Dunn trained mare leading clearly from Man and Superman and Yulong Wall with Prospero travelling a horse off the fence while Andrew Gibbons able to obtain the tag aboard Urbino.
Yulong Wall gained the ascendancy over Kim Alicia as the field headed for the run home with Prospero commencing a forward move and Urbino hooking around him.
Ashley Morgan found the front on Prospero at the distance marker but was no match for the finishing burst of Urbino with the son of Dansili providing the Kris Lees and Andrew Gibbons combination with a double when scoring by a length.
Prospero tried hard and claimed second over Yulong Wall with the latter deriving plenty of benefit by the run while Kim Alicia wilted badly to beat only one runner to the post.
Race 5 - GREAT NORTHERN SUPER CRISP CLASS 3 HCP (1200 M)
The Allan Denham stable added blinkers to the gear of Henschel and it was significant that punters backed the son of Smart Missile into a confidently supported favourite over Leave Me Some with Undeniable drifting noticeably.
Henschel had superior pace and Rory Hutchings was able to secure the lead on the gelding from Dorset Coast and Bozeman with Base Camp handily positioned just off the rails.
Undeniable was trapped wide in the early stages of the event before settling in the second half of the field while Northern Knight and Leave Me Some settled in second last and last placings respectively.
Henschel and Dorset Coast maintained their front positions and wheeled the home bend together from Undeniable with Northern Knight and Leave Me Some commencing their runs down the crown of the track.
After a short battle with Henschel in the home straight, Luke Rolls took Leave Me Some to the front with the Time Thief mare able to withstand the finishing challenge of Northern Knight to land a decisive victory while Henschel held on for third in front of Elenara and Undeniable.
Race 6 - ATHOL PLATT MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 58 HCP (1100 M)
Spanish Missile was the easing favourite with a significant move for Bangalley Lad moving Lobban Hood, Little Wonder and Devil's Choice down the betting order.
There was a real battle for early supremacy before Spanish Missile dashed to the lead from Just Sizzling with Nombuso trailing the stablemate along.
Ray Spokes had Bangalley Lad travelling well just off the rails while Lobban Hood was planted deep in front of Chief Havoc and Little Wonder with Zapluck positioned near the tail with Devil's Choice.
Kyle Wilson-Taylor and Spanish Missile had the field stacked up approaching the bend with Just Sizzling attacking for the front before Bangalley Lad and Lobban Hood commenced their runs as Chief Havoc stayed close to the rails.
Spanish Missile was headed by Bangalley Lad in the home straight before Lobban Hood loomed ominously with the pair staging a titanic struggle over the concluding stages.
It was a tough win to Lobban Hood who scored by a nose after travelling wide throughout over Bangalley Lad with Devil's Choice working home well from last to claim third while Spanish Missile wilted late and Chief Havoc failed to fire.
Race 7 - COL FOSTER MEMORIAL CLASS 1 HCP (1000 M)
There was plenty of confidence surrounding the chances of Majestic Shot with the undefeated filly the firm elect at barrier rise with Full of Spirit the only runner considered a chance.
Crowned Empress raced to the early lead before Matt Bennett took Bel Academy out of the pack to challenge with Full of Spirit in the firing line despite being planted deep.
Superstasia travelled behind the early leaders on the inside of Lost Light while Mitchell Bell was content to sit at the rear of the field aboard Majestic Shot.
There was a real charge approaching the home turn with Superstasia holding the inside advantage to lead from Bel Academy and Full of Spirit with Majestic Shot hooked towards the outside despite giving the leaders a huge margin in the straight.
With Elusive Eagle and Bedazzle challenging Superstasia for the lead in the straight, Majestic Shot came down the outside with a withering run to give the leaders a tidy start and a comprehensive beating as the Super One filly continued her unblemished record for Grant Allard.
Elusive Eagle made up good ground to claim second in front of Bedazzle and Crowned Empress while Full of Spirit weakened over the concluding stages.
Race 8 - STEPHEN COOK MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 58 HCP (1500 M)
Strong betting confidence around Hubble resulted in the Jenny Graham trained gelding claiming favouritism with continued support for Done Good causing Miss Scalini and Writeoff to drift.
Miss Scalini began well and Dylan Gibbons had no hesitation in allowing the Nathan Doyle trained mare to stride clear from Fight for Love and Condover Hall with Write Off and Done Good easing out of the early speed battle.
Rory Hutchings balanced Hubble well and the son of Star Witness settled in the middle of the pack on the inside of Eurogem while Spooky Wooky dropped to the tail of the field after missing the start noticeably.
Miss Scalini maintained the front position approaching the home turn with Fight for Love trying to lift on the outside while Done Good and Hubble commenced their runs down the centre of the course.
With Done Good and Hubble finishing resolutely and Up the Stairs running home powerfully down the outside, Miss Scalini was able to kick back along the rails with the daughter of Magnus holding the advantage to score.
Up the Stairs provided plenty of encouragement for the Terry Evans stable after making up many lengths down the straight to claim second with Hubble clinging on for the minor prize in front of Done Good.
