Members of the public can attend the annual book sale at Wauchope Showground from 10am to 5pm on Wednesday, October 21 to Sunday, October 25.
Doubts were initially raised about the popular event after a storage container was found emptied of around 8000 donated books on October 7.
Rotary Club of Wauchope president Diana Reynolds said the event is the groups major fundraiser for community facilities and was put in jeopardy after the unusual burglary.
"The door (to our storage shed) was found up and it was completely empty. It was very odd but we have made a police report and it's in their hands," she said.
"We had to decide whether we would run the book sale after such an appalling act. But we have been overrun with generous offers for people donating books."
The group has received offers for donated books from Rotary Club of Port Macquarie, Rotary Club of Tamworth, Rotary Club of Grafton Midday, Rotary Club of Laurieton, Taree North Rotary Club and members of the community.
"We are going to be fairly close to what we would normally have at the book sale. It has been a very busy week," said Mrs Reynolds.
"It's outstanding community spirit and I think it's because people are so surprised that persons unknown have removed our supplies.
"In difficult times our community can show its immense spirit of giving and care."
If you're interested in donating novels, please visit the Wauchope Showgrounds between 10am and 4pm on October 19 and 20.
