Emergency services were called at about 1pm today (Wednesday, September 30), following reports the teenage boy had got into trouble while swimming with family members.
Upon arrival, officers from Manning-Great Lakes Police District pulled the 17-year-old from the water and began conducting CPR before NSW Ambulance paramedics continued. However he died at the scene.
A report into the incident will be prepared for the Coroner.
