On Sunday, a bicycle store in Coffs Harbour was broken into with two bicycles stolen. One was a motorised e-bike valued at $10,000 and the other valued at $5,200.
CCTV footage from the store and surrounding locations shows a male allegedly trying to break in via the front doors of the business before going to the rear of the store and smashing his way in.
The vehicle driven by the alleged offender was recognised by police from the Mid North Coast Proactive Team as belonging to a known Port Macquarie man.
On Wednesday police from the proactive team attended an address in Pacific Drive, Port Macquarie where the vehicle was located and seized.
The 35 year-old man was spoken to and a bike valued at $5200 was allegedly located in the kitchen area of the residence. Police also seized clothing and shoes allegedly worn during the offence and an angle grinder from the vehicle.
The male was arrested and taken to the Port Macquarie Police Station where he was charged with break, enter and steal and placed on conditional bail to appear at the Port Macquarie Local Court on September 30.
Police are making further inquiries into the location of the other stolen bicycle.
