The Step up to Breast Cancer campaign calls on people to walk, run or jog throughout the month of August.
A team of five people from Isaacs & Cole Chartered Accountants are aiming to raise $10,000 to help fund research into the disease.
The National Breast Cancer Foundation is working to eliminate deaths from breast cancer by 2030.
Jacqui Hallett is a staff member at the business who was diagnosed with breast cancer two years ago.
She said she was lucky a mammogram picked up the cancer early on.
Mrs Hallett said she didn't have any family history of the disease.
The campaign has helped Mrs Hallett maintain a positive mindset in the lead up to her two year check up.
The mother of four children said she's feeling more energised since taking up the challenge at the start of August.
"We're (team members) all trying to make changes within our day," she said.
Mrs Hallett said it can be difficult to find 10,000 steps in a day but has come up with inventive ways to increase her movements.
She uses the printer furthest away from her desk at work and will take more steps around the house when putting away her children's clean washing.
The daily step count of 10,000 is equivalent to walking about seven kilometres.
Staff members have noted the increased exercise has had a positive impact on their mental health.
According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australia. Almost 20,000 women and men will be diagnosed this year.
Tragically eight people lose their lives from breast cancer each day.
Mrs Hallett said there are many people within the community who have breast cancer or know someone who has been diagnosed with it.
The business team have raised about $4,500 and are calling on the community to support their cause.
