In the previous round Port United were thoroughly smashed by Macleay Valley Rangers (1-5) in the first grade match at Dixie Park on August 8. Kempsey Saints were kept scoreless by Port Saints (0-3) during the round.
Sawtell and Taree Wildcats held out for a nil-all scoreline at Toormina Oval on August 8, while Coffs City United proved too strong for inter-town rivals, Coffs Coast Tigers (4-0).
The ladder is tight at the top with Coffs City United and Port Saints both on five wins. There is only two points between the top four teams with Macleay Valley Rangers, Boambee FC and Northern Storm all collecting four wins.
Port Saints coach Darrell Pascoe said there are no easy games this season and the key will be maintaining possession of the ball.
"We have one guy coming back from injury with a few weeks out, which is good. I'm a little bit concerned about the heavy schedule we have in the next few weeks," he said. "We've got a young side and we have to fit in a few games in front of us."
"The top four teams are there and the other teams aren't far behind. Every team has quality and run for the full 90 minutes.
"There are no easy games. If you're not performing at 100 per cent and not executing 100 per cent, then you could be a little embarrassed come game day. It's a tough comp."
