Thunder has 22 points with the Ratz on 21. Wallamba sits in third place on 17.
Wauchope and Manning played a 19-19 draw in the opening round game at Wauchope and both have four wins and a draw. However, Thunder has secured an extra bonus point.
Newcomers Barbarians Hogs hold down fourth place on eight points with Gloucester on seven.They'll fight for the final place in this season's semi-finals starting on September 19. Old Bar Clams have yet to win a game.
It's a close contest in the women's 10s, with Wallamba on 15 leading Wauchope on 14 followed by Manning and Gloucester, both on 12. They'll be the semi-finalists as Old Bar has yet to open their account.
In this Saturday's round six games Manning Ratz plans Wauchope (Taree Rugby Park), Gloucester tackles Barbarian Hogs (Gloucester) while Old Bar host Wallamba (Richard Crook Field Old Bar).
Gloucester has the bye in the women's 10s.
