While placings on the ladder are deceptive because of postponed games, Mid Coast coach Mick Grass said his team is well placed going into a difficult month of fixtures in Newcastle.

"The players are starting to believe in themselves,'' Grass said.

Mid Coast trailed 1-0 early but were up 2-1 by halftime. The home side skipped to a 3-1 lead early in the second half but Adamstown pulled one goal back.

However, Mid Coast maintained their composure and continued to apply pressure to eventually seal the result with a final goal.

Courtney Anderson continued her goal scoring ways when securing a double while Layni Fens and Natasha Ruge also found the back of the net.

Grass said Mid Coast's midfield, led by Evie Bobilak, Nicola Learoyd and Chelsea Hall were outstanding. He said all worked hard and created chances for their team-mates.

"Courtney (Anderson) knows how to score a goal and she's benefiting from the good work of those players around her,'' Grass said.

Mid Coast came out of the clash with no injury concerns. They head to Newcastle this weekend to play Broadmeadow Magic.

Broadmeadow sits two points behind Mid Coast, but has played one less game.

Mid Coast sits on nine points with Warners Bay but has the better differential. Warners Bay has also played six matches to Mid Coast's five.

Mid Coast lost the opening two games of the season in March before the competition went into recess because of the COVID-19 lockdown.

The side hasn't lost a match since the competition resumed last month, however, so far they've only played the one game in Newcastle. Grass concedes the next month will be a test.
