Weatherzone meteorologist Joel Pippard said a low pressure system is expected to form close to the coast and bring heavy rain, gusty wind and large waves to the region.
Last week, the area was hit with strong wind which brought hazardous surf conditions to the beaches.
Mr Pippard said this week's weather system isn't expected to be as strong as the one which impacted last week, however it is tracking closer to the coast.
The weather system is expected to hit on Sunday, July 26, with heavy rainfall of 20mm to 40mm predicted.
"It will be heaviest in the morning but it will be pretty consistent throughout the day," Mr Pippard said.
Winds are expected to pick up in strength to coincide with the low pressure system. There is also the chance of a thunderstorm on Sunday afternoon.
"It looks like the wind will be an east to south-easterly and then at some point it will switch to a south-westerly wind," Mr Pippard said.
Wave size isn't expected to be as large as when last week's weather system bore down on the coastline.
However, Mr Pippard said some beaches which aren't usually prone to erosion might be susceptible due to the waves coming from an unusual direction.
"That will be due to the east-north-easterly wind swell," he said.
"You can expect to see waves around the two to three metre mark.
"However if that system intensifies you could be seeing waves higher than three metres on the beaches."
