Year six students were given four weeks to create their own project based on a personal passion.
Teachers gave students the freedom to choose their own research projects as an independent learning task for creative thinking. There were minimal restrictions on topic or how students choose to present the topic.
Year six student Erin Little said she made her project into a lion mask based on costumes from the Lion King musical.
"I've created a lion head for the project and I've also interviewed Helen Richie, who was one of the judges on Dancing With The Stars," she said.
"I also interviewed a costume designer who worked on the lion heads for the Lion King musical.
"I was interested in the musical because I love making art that can be made into costumes. I also like acting, singing and dancing. It's made from a cardboard base and paper mache into the shape of a lion head."
Other completed projects included stop-motion animation, dioramas, posters and even some student-made sausages.
