The first of Qantaslink's direct services to and from Sydney recommenced on June 16 with the first flight landing in Port Macquarie at 3pm.
These direct flights will operate every day except Saturday.
The real page-turner is the return of library visits for book lovers.
Wauchope, Laurieton and Port Macquarie libraries reopen this Wednesday (June 17) with services limited to browsing and borrowing between Monday and Friday from 10am and 4pm.
Hygiene measures will be in place as well as the need to accommodate social distancing, with a 20-minute time limit for visits. This means there will be no computer access, photocopying, or printing for the time being.
In the meantime, the library's Click & Collect service continues as does their free online services - ebooks, audiobooks, author talks, story-time sessions and book chats.
Council-owned community centres and halls will reopen for use from June 17.
The safety and wellbeing of council staff, volunteers and residents remains a top priority and appropriate health and safety measures will be in place and must be adhered to.
Community centres and halls are a much-loved part of Port Macquarie-Hastings community life.
