The temporary Salty Crew Kiosk cafe building on Town Beach was broken into overnight (May 16).
Staff were unable to open on Sunday, May 17, leaving the scene for police to investigate.
It's a blow for the small but popular local business which was last year impacted by a major fire in the female amenities, gutting one side of the building and threatening the Marine Rescue base upstairs.
Just days before repair works were due to start on the building from the September 2019 blaze, another fire was lit in a garbage bin on April 17 which had been placed up against the outside wall of the building.
"Our little temporary container home was broken into last night. We find this difficult to understand," staff wrote to their loyal customers on Sunday morning.
"Unfortunately we won't be able to open today while police investigate further and fingerprint. We will re-open tomorrow morning (Monday) at 6am.
"We look forward to seeing your smiling faces tomorrow to warm our hearts again."
Salty Crew Kiosk and the lifeguard storage unit have temporarily relocated to a container while repair works on the main building take place.
The building repairs are expected to take around three months to complete by Port Macquarie-Hastings Council appointed contractor, Advanced Buildings.
