"Come on petrol stations on the Mid North Coast, lower your prices," Mr Conaghan pleaded.
"Honestly our region is second only to about Tasmania for petrol prices that remain too high when compared to other towns in Australia and world oil prices.
"Honestly, about the best I have seen is $1 for unleaded and $1.119 for diesel, whereas Sydney is a good 10 to 20 cents cheaper.
"Bring down your prices and help our community during this challenging time of coronavirus or see momentum build towards an inquiry or Royal Commission."
In April, fuel for the first time in years fell below $1 at some independent stations in Port Macquarie however the average price of unleaded petrol across the region remained at 1.26 cents per litre.
Mr Khoury said the unleaded petrol price has dropped between 26 cents per litre and 34 cents per litre for the Port Macquarie-Hastings.
However, Mr Khoury said it's nowhere near enough, given prices in Sydney have been falling by a cent each day.
World oil prices are at a 20 year low and according to the NRMA weekly fuel report, over supply concerns continue to pressure crude prices.
At noon on May 1, the cheapest fuel price in Port Macquare was 99.9 cents per litre at the Bridgestone independent in Gordon Street.
The highest, less than 300 metres down the road, was the Coles Express at 121.9 cents per litre. It was matched by the Caltex at Woolworths and on Lord Street.
Motorists can currently lodge their complaints about high petrol prices to the ACCC. Visit www.accc.gov.au or call 1300 302 502.
