Tamazyn Ledden is just 16 years of age but has kicked off her first business - The Brew Hub.
The year 11 Heritage Christian School student has set up her coffee cart and beautiful snacks outside Everybody Fitness on Hastings River Drive.
Undaunted by the current business climate, Tamazyn says she started out in the business to help her mum Kymberley who operates The Brew Box on Morton Street near the old hospital.
Adding to the good news story is that Tamazyn received the coffee cart and coffee machine as a surprise 16th birthday gift.
"I wasn't told I was getting it and it was just so exciting," she said.
"I was helping mum making coffee at The Brew Box and now I've expanded on my own for these school holidays, and possibly beyond.
"As far as the coronavirus is concerned and setting up a new business, I understand what it all means. But this is just an exciting opportunity for me and this business," she said.
"This business is helping my family and providing a service for customers."
Tamazyn said the reaction from customers had been encouraging.
She said the "drive-through style" provided customers with the chance to pull off the road safely.
The young entrepreneur also praised Everybody Fitness owner and long time family friend Graeme Lawlor for his support.
"When I asked Graeme about using his businesses footprint he just said 'yeah, go for it'."
Despite her business interests, Tamazyn said she still socialises with friends over social media platforms and is continuing her studies.
"I am going to continue with my schooling and also keep up with the The Brew Hub too.
"Customers are enjoying the coffee and some beaut snacks.
"I make really good coffee - I want to make this business work," she said.
