I read with absolute dismay that Council is to consider on Wednesday (18 March) whether to proceed with a vote to remove fluoride from the water supply.

The mayor has apparently undertaken her research and is convinced that fluoride is a poison and therefore should be removed.
As Paracelsus stated in the early 16th Century, "All substances are poisons....the right dose separates a poison from a remedy".
From a public health point of view, there should absolutely be no continuing debate about this!
The science is settled and fluoride must continue to be added to our water as it has been clearly shown to reduce the rate of tooth decay.
I wonder whether the Mayor in her research considered the public liability claims that Council will face in the future from today's children when they develop tooth decay which could have been prevented.
