Since its inception three years ago, the sub only grappling tournament has seen rapid growth, and the competitions creator, BJJ black belt Chris Helback, attributes the popularity to his unique ruleset.
"I've tried really hard to make the tournament for all types of grappling; it's not a just pure Ju-Jitsu ruleset," he said.
"The Coffs Harbour Invitational gives martial arts practitioners a choice as to grappling art they want to implement, whether that be Judo, Wrestling or BJJ.
"There are also divisions for all skill sets and weight classes, from beginners to the more advanced, it has something for everyone."
Keep an eye out for the Coffs Harbour Invitational Brazillian Ju-Jitsu tournament this April 18 at Sportz Central in Coffs Harbour; all spectators and martial arts academies are welcome.
Major sponsors are Hibbard homes, Bellingen Solar and C4 Brazllian Ju-jitsu.
