Pagotto claimed 3-18 off seven overs with the ball before he combined with Tom Marchant to put on 59 for the opening wicket as SCAS cruised to a six-wicket victory over Carinya Christian School.
The visitors batted first and could only manage 116 all out off 38 overs before SCAS chased it down in the 26th over for the loss of only four wickets.
Coach James Terrett was impressed with the way his side went about their run chase.
"We were really patient with the bat; a low total can be pretty hard to chase in school cricket ... it's a mental thing," he said.
"Even 120 runs on the board at Oxley was going to be hard to chase down with the slow outfield."
First change bowler Charlie Beard also contributed with the ball, claiming two important early wickets.
The opening partnership of Marchant and Pagotto then went a long way to settling any nerves that may have arisen from chasing a mediocre total.
"There have been some batting collapses over the years," Terrett said.
On a day where only three boundaries were hit, Bryce Cook secured the victory with a towering six as he steered his side home with an impressive knock of 31 not out.
Terrett said SCAS had a history over the years of being knocked out by the eventual winners of the independent schools tournament.
But so far they had navigated their way without too many troubles.
"We lost to St Philip's Christian College from Cessnock last year in about the second or third round and they went on to win it so hopefully we can make it all the way," Terrett said.
SCAS will face Riverina Anglican College from Wagga Wagga in the semi-finals which need to be completed by March 18.
