Unit commander Michael Ward praised SES crews, RFS, Fire and Rescue NSW and other organisations for their quick response to the storm that struck around 4.45pm.
There were 75 jobs logged with 60 of those completed just after midnight.
SES had six crews from Port Macquarie, two from Wauchope and one each from Camden Haven, Stroud, Taree, Wingham and Forster/Pacific Palms attending.
Mr Ward praised the quick response.
"The SES crews, working with other organisations, did an awesome job overnight," he said.
"The strong storm cell came through at around 4.45pm, generating 75 requests for assistance.
"These jobs were relating mainly to damage to roofs and trees down.
"In terms of the response, I thought it was excellent."
Mr Ward said Fire and Rescue NSW attended one house on Settlement Point Road that had lost its entire roof.
Crews continued to work on jobs well past midnight.
"The feedback I was getting was that there was a lot of damage out there with extensive damage to houses in that general area," Mr Ward said.
"We just kept throwing crews at jobs, just to try and get through them.
"Today (Tuesday) the deputy unit commander Katie Blake is putting together more crews to head out to complete these remaining jobs."
Mr Ward said that anyone requiring SES assistance should call 132 500.
He also urged people to be patient.
"Given the nature of the storm it wil take some time to get to these remaining jobs," he added.
He said some jobs had to be left until daylight hours because of the type of damage to houses.
An arborist team is also working in conjunction with the SES as part of the clean-up because of the number of significantly large trees that were impacted.
Meanwhile a large tree branch fell onto Lord Street on Friday, January 31 at around 11.30pm.
Fortunately no one was injured.
The branch appears to have rotted completely through.
The SES was called to clear the road.
