Hosted by Hastings Rotaract in conjunction with the Camden Haven Show Society and the Camden Haven Courier the event was a chance for the community to come together after the intense recent bushfires and ongoing drought.
The forecast said rain but still they forged ahead and when the rain came everyone was delighted.
Co organiser Jack Wilson said the event was excellent even if the rain wasn't in the original plan.
"Well what can you do? At least the rain is coming where farmers need it as well," Mr Wilson said.
"We had planned to have lots of shelters to keep people out of the sun but in the end it was a good thing we had them to keep dry.
"In the end I think the rain made the event. People were jumping in the muddy puddles and the water dunking station got a work out."
The event was funded by a Rotary District 9650 grant with many local businesses coming on board donating food and supplies.
"A huge thank you must go to everyone who helped us put the event on and everyone who came out to enjoy the fun, games and rain," Mr Wilson said.
"The point of the day was to bring people together after the hardship of the last few months and to see everyone smiling and having fun is what it is all about."
