The masterclass is to coincide with Mrs Ford's exhibition (with Kerry Wheeldon) called Threaded Earth at the Glasshouse until January 12.
"Everything in the exhibition is made from natural materials, natural fabrics and natural dye," Mrs Ford said.
"The masterclass is about exploring possibilities, using those dyes from nature on natural fabric to see what sort of a result we are going to get."
Mrs Ford is a textile and bead artist who has been influenced by traditional artists from India, Japan and Indonesia.
She admits she is "still developing" as an artist.
As a youngster she loved "threading beads".
But when she left school she took a more conventional career and ended up a teacher and then a school principal.
Mrs Ford retired five years ago and decided to pursue her passion for art full-time.
She now even makes her own art materials.
"It is very satisfying to make your own jewellery from beads you have made," she said.
The Summer Masterclass with Vana Ford is on January 11 at 9.30am. Bookings are essential. You can book via the Glasshouse.
