Ms King grew up in Port Macquarie and is now an artist based in the United Kingdom where her business popartmypet.co.uk is doing something a little different.
The business combines Ms King's love of digital art and photography, producing original, digitally designed art pieces of pets.
"I love animal faces and design so this seemed a perfect match for me blending the two," she said.
Ms King remembers fondly her childhood in Port Macquarie.
"I enjoyed the beach like every child and would frequent most weekends in between my part-time job at the pancake parlour whilst at school," she said.
"It was a beautiful town to grow up in and I will always have fond childhood memories of how lucky I was to live there and the simple life it was."
From a young age Ms King loved art.
"Art and creativity has always followed me as a young child and I found interest in anything visual, detailed and textured," she said.
"I used to sketch, draw and paint and this naturally flowed on playing about with paints."
She started her career as a photographer, setting up a successful business in the process.
Ms King's latest venture - popartmypet.co.uk - can be accessed anywhere in the world.
"Anyone can upload an image of their pet to the website from anywhere in the world and I will create a personal and unique pop art piece for them that will make a great statement in the home on a variety of printing materials," she said.
"So far this has been very popular with animal lovers from around the world."
While Ms King still has family in Port Macquarie she is happily settled in the UK.
"The United Kingdom is such a beautiful country and the people are so kind and understand the Australian humour," she said.
"I live around the rugged rural woodlands of Cheshire where the scenery is ever-changing and a divine backdrop to everything I photograph.
"I have the best studio in the world."
