Crowds are expected to flock to the beach for the January 1 public holiday.
Beachgoers will enjoy mostly sunny conditions with wind present throughout the week, said Weatherzone meteorologist Kim Westcott.
"Today (Tuesday) we will see north-easterly winds which will be strongest in the afternoon. These may reach 30kmh," said Ms Westcott.
"On Wednesday winds will be northerly in the morning and east-north-east in the afternoon peaking at probably 20kmh in the afternoon. It will be mostly sunny and 30 degrees.
"There will be a switch to the easterly on Thursday and east-north-east on Friday and Saturday.
"Next first chance of rain will be somewhere between Sunday or Monday and it is not a high chance. That could be Monday or the following week."
Beachgoers need to be aware of their own swimming ability, watch the weather and swim at patrolled beaches, according to Port Macquarie lifeguards.
"The conditions that have developed are quite concerning. Strong north-east winds with increased swell power are creating messy conditions with strong currents rips especially at our open-faced and north exposed beaches.
"Lifeguards are encouraging swimming at no further than waist depth."
