About 9pm on Thursday, December 19 Mid North Coast Police District officers attended a property at Lorne, south of Port Macquarie, to conduct an apprehended domestic violence order (ADVO) check.
After a woman was observed running into the home, police were granted permission to search the property to locate her and check on her welfare.
The woman was located safe and left the residence a short time later.
During the search, police located cannabis, which officers allege had been packaged in numerous resealable plastic bags. Police also allege there was a recently harvested cannabis plantation at the rear of the property.
A 46-year-old man was arrested and taken to Port Macquarie Police Station.
Police charged him with contravening a prohibition/restriction in AVO (domestic), possessing a prohibited drug, cultivating a prohibited plant and breaching bail.
He was refused bail to appear in Port Macquarie Local Court today (Friday, December 20).
