The Laurieton United Services Club Family Fishing Bonanza is a family friendly event that runs over three days from January 3-5.
This year the event has more the $3,500.00 in cash and prizes up for grabs and caters for all anglers of all abilities - so basically you only have to be in it to win it said Matthew Hutchinson.
"We are gearing up for another a great fishing competition and we are encouraging everyone to put in a line and see what they can catch," Mr Hutchinson said.
"Fish must be caught between 6am on Friday, January 3 and midday on Sunday, January 5. All fish to be gutted and be kept on ice.
"We have competitions for the kids as well as adults and loads of great prizes so you have to be in it to win it.
"There will be lots of mystery prizes so it really is anyone's game when it comes to the winning prizes."
Mr Hutchinson said you can catch from the river, lake and rocks but you have to register to be in with a chance.
"Entry forms available at the LUSC Foyer, The Dunbogan Boat Shed and North Haven Bait & Tackle and with strictly no late entries get in quick."
Entries are $10 for Adults and $5 for juniors (Under 16 years of age) Family $25.
The weigh in is held at the rear of the Laurieton United Serviceman's Club Seymour St Laurieton on January 5.
"So don't be late as you might miss out," he said.
