So in addition to the regular local racing opportunities offered for club members, the club has arranged to work with a number of local accredited coaches to put on a free training day for any newcomers to triathlon.
The session isn't exclusive to club members and anyone who has ever shown an interest in the sport is more than welcome to attend.
The training day will be held at McInherney Park in Port Macquarie from 7.30am until 9.30am on November 9.
The coaching session is designed to introduce adult newcomers and juniors from 10yrs old to the sport of triathlon and give them confidence to take on what might be their first race or their first full season.
The session will be run by local coaches Belinda Johnson and Melinda Cockshutt in partnership with PMTC members.
It will also focus on general Triathlon Australia rules, swim safety and open water swimming skills, cycling set-up and handling skills along with basic bike maintenance.
Road safety and how to manage the triathlon transitions from swim to bike to run will also be covered.
Any participants are reminded to bring swim, bike and running gear and a drink bottle.
The day is open to non-members, so if there's anyone out there who's been interested in the sport, but didn't exactly know where to start - this will be a great option.
It is also not too late to join up for the 2019/20 triathlon season, and any interested athletes out there can find all the information they need regarding club membership by going to the Port Tri Club website at www.portmactriclub.com.au.
