Carts competing in the main race were What Tha, Devil's Apprentices, Savish II, Bubblegum Racer, Uncut and Here for the Beers.
What Tha, driven by Wauchope's Paul Kucera and Josh van der Heyden, stormed home in a fast race.
Kucera said he reached speeds over 100kmh coming down the mountain and has refined the design of his billycart over the years for functionality and speed.
"I can't give too much away. I've cut the sides out of it so I can see where I'm going around the corners, which helps," Kucera said. He has been racing in the event for 10 years.
"I keep coming back - you've got to keep this event alive."
Devil's Apprentices, Luke Cantrell and Duane Gardoll, owned the course and return each year for the adrenaline rush.
"We got up to 113kmh coming down that hill," he said.
And they won in 5.42 minutes ahead of What Tha 5.59m in second and Savish II in 7.38m.
Here for the Beers enjoyed a cold one post-race and while they couldn't manage a few words due to the need to inhale oxygen, gave the race the big thumbs up.
The kids event saw a dozen billycarts shoot down the main street to rounds of applause with the event wrapping up with mud crab racing and raffles.
