Temperatures will be 6-10 degrees above average across most of NSW on Friday, with the mercury to climb to 30 degrees in Port Macquarie ahead of a possible thunderstorm in the north of the Mid-North Coast.
If it does storm, the Bureau of Meteorology is predicting less than 1mm, to not a drop, of rain.
A cold front will move through the far west and the far south-east late Friday, and the remainder of the state from Saturday to early Sunday.
This will bring cooler conditions to much of NSW on Saturday, with hot conditions persisting in the north-east.
The hot, dry and windy weather ahead of the cold front will lead to elevated fire dangers across parts of NSW.
Saturday's temperatures across the Hastings will hover around 30-32 degrees before dropping to a comfortable 25 degrees on Sunday and 23 degrees Monday.
