Investigations are continuing after a deceased koala with what appears to be a deliberate hole in its chest was found in Laurieton.
About 7.30am on Saturday, October 19, officers attached to Mid North Coast Police District received reports of a deceased koala with a significant chest injury had been located within the Henry Kendall Reserve.
Police attended the scene, some 50m east of the toilet block within the reserve, where they located the deceased koala with what appeared to be a deliberate hole in its chest resembling that of an arrow or something similar.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the animal's death continue.
