To celebrate and further enhance the volunteering experience, Volunteer HQ Port Macquarie Hastings will host the Volunteer Expo 2019 at Panthers Port Macquarie on Tuesday October 22.
Volunteer HQ coordinator Nuscha Van Nieuwkerk says the community would not be the same without volunters.
"Volunteers take up roles within a community that would not normally be filled," she said.
"If not-for-profit groups and the wider community had to pay for all the work volunteers complete, very little would get done.
"Volunteers are obviously doing all this work and they do make a difference for their community and for other people," she said.
"This helps make the volunteer expo such a great event."
Ms Van Nieuwkerk said the expo highlights volunteering and how you can really change (a community) direction.
It can also be used to update skill levels, looks good on your CV and also provides a great platform for people to get back into the community.
There are also great benefits to volunteering.
It is a great platform to connect, make a difference and also volunteers report they enjoy a better quality of life.

"It is a great platform to connect, make a difference and also volunteers report they enjoy a better quality of life," Ms Van Nieuwkerk said.
The expo will feature stall holders who will showcase the services they provide to the community.
Potential volunteers can then match their skill levels or ideals to organisation where they could become involved.
Volunteer HQ will also have an information table at the expo with information on some 200 volunteer roles currently unfilled.
"We like to think that we connect, link, educate and support people in their volunteering," she added.
The free Volunteer Expo 2019 is at Panthers Port Macquarie on Tuesday October 22, 10am until 2pm.
