A total of 26 collectable coins are being launched by Australian Post in partnership with the Royal Australian Mint.
The roadshow stopped off at Westport Park on Wednesday (October 16).
The new coins are a celebration - and collection - of iconic and admired parts of Australian life. This week's coins are a nod to G'day, the Hills hoist, kangaroo, neighbours, platypus, quokka, Vegemite and the Yowie.
Australia Post area manager Warren Mason said his favourite coin in the new release was the thong.
"This is the first time we have released coins, in conjunction with the mint, in this fashion," he said.
"There are six coins a week being released via Australia Post in change where it becomes salted into the economy.
"It is creating plenty of interest. It is becoming a real coin hunt and we've even seen people swapping coins after they have been served to ensure they get the coins they want.
"We have also noticed that people are looking forward to each new release on a Monday."
Mr Mason said the celebration of all things Australian was a great way to acknowledge our uniqueness.
"Where else would you find a ute on a coin? And everyone in Australia says g'day too," he said.
"So this is also a celebration of regional and rural Australia too."
Mr Mason said another positive aspect of the coin release was that it was becoming a generational event.
He said grandparents and grandchildren were combining to source all 26 of the newly minted coins.
"It is a nice way for the generations to do things together," he added.
The 26 coins represent - Australia Post, boomerang, cricket, didgeridoo, esky, footy, g'day, Hills Hoist, Iced VoVo, jillaroo/jackaroo, kangaroo, Lamington, meat pie, neighbours, outback, platypus, Quokka, Royal Flying Doctor Service, Surf Life Saving Australia, thongs, ute, Vegemite, Weet-Bix, Xantippe, yowie, Zooper Dooper.
