This year the students and residents focused on memories and stories that were sparked by particular colours or feelings that the colours evoked.
The artworks produced contain imagery which references special memories for both students and residents and the process encourages sharing and story-telling.
This program is very important as it offers both students and residents the opportunity to connect, form bonds and have fun in an inclusive and non-judgemental environment.
Many of the students want to talk about their day and many residents just want to listen. It's a therapeutic experience just as much as it is an artistic one.
The program culminated in a presentation both at Mary Knoll Aged Care facility and at Wauchope Public School which offered further opportunity for students and residents to share their stories and feelings and to reflect on what they gained from the experience.
