Tarbox hit the 2019 men's US Open Championship course recently and he will fly the flag as the only Charles Sturt University member to represent individually on the Gold Coast.
"I'm looking forward to competing at University Nationals having recently joined Emerald Downs Golf Course and have been working towards this event for most of this year," he said.
"It will be great to finally be a competitor at this national event as I was a volunteer in 2004 at the Eastern University Games held in Coffs Harbour."
A keen golfer for over 20 years, he will bring a wealth of knowledge of the sport as well as course knowledge where the four rounds will be played this year, having played both Palmer Gold Coast and Palmer Colonial on numerous occasions.
He is an external student, currently completing a Bachelor of Primary Education part-time while working full time and raising two girls with wife Jen.
This year's division one University Nationals will take place on the Gold Coast from September 28 to October 3 across 29 different sports competitions involving over 5000 athletes.
"It would be great to post some good scores early in the event in round one and two at Palmer Gold Coast having played many individual and team events there in the past," Tarbox said.
"It is quite a hilly and demanding course - which can intimidate and challenge the first timer."
