As part of that journey, the group plans to host its annual mini field of women on Friday at 10.30am.
The event is at the Port Macquarie Library and is held on behalf of the Breast Cancer Network Australia.
Coordinator Judith Hutchesson says the group has been operating for 16 years and has hosted the mini field for over a decade.
"We want people to come along and have a look at the display," she said.
"This is a tribute to all those who have been lost to breast cancer and those that are fighting the wretched disease.
"We want breast cancer to be recognised by the community and also to recognise that we need to talk about it," she said.
"There needs to be more community awareness."
