The new citizens hail from Thailand, United Kingdom, Indonesia, South Korea, Vietnam, Canada, Netherlands, Switzerland, Sri Lanka, Republic of Ireland, India and Belgium.

Suveesh Venugopal, Neethu Augustine and Aislinn Suveesh were delighted to officially become Australian citizens.

"We are so happy right now to officially be joined by one country," Ms Venugopal said.

"I was born in India, my wife and daughter were born in Ireland and my second daughter Anika was born in Australia but now we are all Aussies.

"We have been to a few countries are we believe Australia is the best because of the opportunities it has for work, study and for living.

"I am glad both my daughters will be able to study whatever they want and grow up knowing they can be anything they want to be."

Mr Venugopal said since the family arrived in the Hastings in 2012 they have seen lots of changes.

"We decided to move to Port Macquarie because we wanted the lifestyle," he said.

"We lived in Dublin which was very busy and we are so glad to have picked Port Macquarie when we moved to Australia. When we first moved to town it was very quite but we have seen lots of changes in just a few years."

Aislinn said she was very happy to be officially calling Australia home.

"I love koalas because they are so fuzzy and I love spending time with my friends and at the beach," Aislinn said.

"I am so glad to now be an Australian."
