The mock trial was part of 150th anniversary celebrations for the historic courthouse and observers were taken back to the year of 1897 to watch Ms Pinson stand trial on the charge of impersonating a man to obtain an office of power.
Of course the whole exercise was just a lot of fun and with costumes and a full house everyone had an excellent time.
Tony Lanzafame, president of the Historic Court Society (and judge of the trial) said the anniversary celebrations had gone down a treat in the community.
"We are blown away by how many people have come out and had a look around the historic courthouse," Mr Lanzafame said.
"We had a packed gallery for our mock trial with the mayor and from my seat as the judge everyone played their characters extremely well.
"It was fantastic to see everyone get invested in the trial and it was great that people cheered and laughed along as it played out."
Port Macquarie-Hastings mayor Peta Pinson said he was delighted to play a role in the celebrations.
"No two days as mayor are ever the same but this has been a real blast," Mrs Pinson said.
"We all had a bit of fun and what a wonderful way to celebrate 150 years of law and order in Port Macquarie."
