The Green Bloods ended up on the wrong side of the ledger with defeats in 2014 and 2017 and they will hope it's third time lucky in 2019.
There are a few scores to settle.
United defender Eli Wade has another one to win on the other side of the fence - he wants to complete the family hat-trick.
Younger brothers Darcy and Chester won their under-16 and under-14 junior championships with United last weekend.
"There is a little bit of pressure; they tried to put it on me during the week, so two down one to go," Wade said.
The connection doesn't end there with father Nathan coaching the side aiming to throw the monkey off the back that has hung on for almost two decades.
They haven't won a championship since a victory over Camden Haven in 2000.
"Dad put it onto us at training on Tuesday night saying it's been nearly 20 years; especially with the brothers winning their grand finals ... it's pressure on pressure," Wade said.
"You can't describe how important it is after the year we've had; Saturday is the day."
The 22-year-old also has demons of his own to exorcise after missing from the spot that saw United bundled out a game short of last year's grand final.
"It really hurt last year; it wasn't the best feeling letting the boys down, but this year we've made it and we just have to finish the job and put it in the bag."
When asked what it was like to have his dad in charge of plotting a premiership success, the defender said it had both positives and negatives.
"It's interesting; it's definitely interesting," he said.
"We drive home and have a chat, he tells me what I've done wrong, what I've done right and where I can improve so it's good having that relationship."
Wade said whether the motivation of completing the family grand final success hat-trick or ending the club's championship drought was more important, he couldn't decide.
"It's definitely 50-50; it sets the nerves in when my brothers start talking a bit of smack, but we just want to win," he said.
"Hopefully it's third time lucky."
First grade kicks off at 3pm at Regional Stadium.
