Held at Rollands Plains Recreation Reserve from 10am on Sunday September 15, the auction always attracts buyers from inter-state, as well as locals.
This year the focus is on Huon Pine from Tasmania and more than 30 lots will be sold on the day.
"Slabs to one metre wide by 3.5m long, inch boards, coffee table slices and hobby lots will all go under the hammer," said organiser Greg Ward.
"We have Australian Red Cedar, Rosewood, Snakewood, Mackay Cedar, New Guinea Rosewood, Queensland Maple, Zebrawood, Gidgee, Hairy Oak, Camphor Laurel, Blackwood, Silky Oak, Red Gum, Jarrah, Buloke, Callphyllum, Blackbutt, hardwoods, furnture timbers and hobby packs," he said.
Viewing is on Saturday from 10am to 5pm and on Sunday from 8am to 10am. The canteen will be open from 9am. You can also view timbers under preparation at www.boutiquetimbers.com.au or go to the Boutique Timbers Facebook page.
Greg says it's a great day out and attracts a lot of interest.
"It's our seventh year, and we do it in conjunction with the Rollands Plains Trust. They are developing a horse-riding facility at the showground, and they have a hall there which has a new canteen," he said.
"We normally get around 100 buyers from all over the place. Some are furniture makers. Others are retired people who want hobby packs," he said.
The auction starts at 10am on Sunday September 15 at Rollands Plains Recreation Reserve at 28 Bril Bril Road, Rollands Plains.
