Mathew Reedy, Operations Manager for the Mid North Coast, said that for safety reasons, the power supply was isolated following damage to an Essential Energy padmount substation located near Range Street.
"Essential Energy crews responded immediately securing safety of the site and carried out the necessary repairs. Power was restored to all customers within 45 minutes," he said.
Areas affected included High Street, Bain Street, Hastings Street, Wallace Street, Pead Street, Campbell Street, Colonial Circuit, Blythe Street, Blackbutt Drive, Gowrie Road, Yippin Creek, Timbertown and part of Cameron Street. Shops, businesses and homes were all affected.
Essential Energy says it thanks customers for their patience and advises to stay at least eight metres away from fallen or damaged power lines and call Essential Energy on 13 20 80 to report.
