Around 90 people attended the gathering on September 3 including five new recruits assigned to Mid-North Coast District.
The event celebrates Retired Police Officers Day held annually on September 4 and honours the contribution, sacrifice and ongoing legacy of retired NSW police officers.
"It's a great opportunity to recognise so many years of service and fill that void which is sometimes there after being involved in serving the community for many years," said district commander superintendent Paul Fehon.
"We have a presentation to keep them up to date with all the changes happening in policing including introducing our five new recruits who were there to meet and discuss the start of their own careers.
"We've very supportive of what they have done over the many years and it's great to be linked back with the current policing officers across the Mid-North Coast.
"It shouldn't just stop flat when they retire, there should be an opportunity for us to recognise them and show our appreciation of them."
Retired officers were also given the opportunity to see new technology being used by Mid-North Coast officers including drones and MobiPol smartphone computer systems.
"We demonstrated to them some of the new technology that we use and they may not have seen over the years," said Supt Fehon.
"Our forward looking infrared, our MobiPol, our drones that we have through the crash investigation unit and also the latest BMW highway patrol vehicles with number plate recognition system.
"I think the favourites were probably the drones, there were some aspects of body worn video which I'm sure they wish they had back then.
"The MobiPol being able to send tickets and identify people out in the field through what is basically a phone."
Former police officer and current Marine Rescue Port Macquarie deputy commander Graham Gibbs was also recognised for a recent Commissioner's Citation awarded by Marine Rescue NSW.
"Thank you once again for your service, your pride in having taken the oath of office and having been one of the many heroes in policing," said Supt Fehon to all retired officers on the day.
