After being successful in both divisions - under 10 and senior open - at the Mid North Coast gala day, both teams travelled to Sydney to compete against the top schools representing all divisions within New South Wales.
This success follows St Peter's 2018 achievement in winning the NSW All Catholic School's rugby union competition.
This year, after dropping only one game each in their respective pools, both teams finished fifth in each state division.
Only three schools qualified in both divisions, St Mary's Dubbo being the most successful school, claiming the open's title and being runner-up in the under-10s.
St Peter's were the next most successful school.
A significant achievement, considering both St Mary's and St Peter's were much smaller than many of their city counterparts and do not have the same opportunity for competition that city schools can utilise.
More than half of the 17-member under-10 team from St Peter's are not currently playing in a rugby league competition.
It is clear that country rugby league can still provide a very prominent pool of future stars in the NRL.
Principal Geoff Leary was very appreciative of the wonderful support provided by staff, families and the broader community in creating great opportunities for children to engage in progressively challenging sporting and cultural endeavours.
