The Giants batted first and scored three runs in the first innings when the Mariners gave away two walks. They backed that up with three safe hits.
The Mariners started promisingly when Max Carpenter had a safe hit and Matt Lenton smashed the ball to centre field. However, the promising start lead to no runs being scored.
Pitcher Warren Collins started the second innings with a brilliant strike out. The Mariners scored when Tim Harris was brought home by Todd Reid hitting safely to left field.
The Giants fought back in the third innings when two walks and two safe hits were turned into three runs.
The fourth innings proved to be the undoing of the Mariners efforts. The Giants had five safe hits and a walk, scoring six runs. The Mariners failed to score in the next two innings, giving the Giants a comfortable 12-2 win.
