Our junior state title teams, Hastings Valley Netball Association 12s, 13s, and 14s, made the trek to Sydney for three days of intense netball against the best associations across the state.
While our 13s played some good netball, with some good wins and close losses in division two, it was our 12s that proved to be our in-form representative team for 2019.
Also playing in division two, the 12s came away from the titles with only 4 losses from 18 games.
Coach Jodie Burge was suitably impressed with her young team.
Our 14s team made the big jump to division one, after they finished in second place in division two at the 2018 state championships.
Whilst they came away from the weekend with only one win, every game was played with the same grit and determination that they displayed last year which got them into the Championship Division this year.
Last weekend saw the 2019 regional league series kick off in Coffs Harbour.
HVNA has had a very successful history in the regional league competition and our opens team continued this with five convincing wins from five games.
Jodie Burge, coach of the HVNA 17's regional league team, was also happy with her teams start to the competition.
The girls won three out of four games, going down to Nambucca by only two goals.
"They are a team of skilled, competitive and motivated netballers and are excited for the upcoming games."
Round two will be played in Taree on August 11, with semi finals and finals to be held in Port Macquarie on August 25.
