Write Tribe is on each Tuesday at 4pm. It is organised and hosted at The Sunset Gallery, on Central Road.
One of the participants of the fledgling group, Sam Marshall, says the group is about sharing creativity.
The year 9 Heritage Christian School student described herself as 'a nerd' who was continually looking at the balance between looking at her phone screen and ready more books.
"The Write Tribe is a place where you can come along and be part of a non-judgemental group," she said.
"We share all different types of writing, including fiction, non-fiction, songs, poetry. It's just about what pick is your difference.
"It is for all ages, from high school age and up."
Sam says got involved because it is an enjoyable experience.
A budding songwriter and short story writer, Sam is also looking to publish her own fictional book in the future.
That is what's great about the Write Tribe because you are in a place where you can get some constructive criticism if you want it from people who are prepared to listen to what you have written.

"That is what's great about the Write Tribe because you are in a place where you can get some constructive criticism if you want it from people who are prepared to listen to what you have written," she said.
Sam says she has 'been writing since I can remember'.
"I was the primary school nerd who always had a book in my hands," she said.
The young writer says she has also realised she spends too much time on her phone and on social media.
"My new year's resolution was to stop spending so much time in front of a screen," she said.
"Once you start looking around at the world around you, you realise that this is a wonderful place.
"It is so easy to criticise people, particularly on social media. But you don't see their reaction to what you have written. You are not seeing the pain on their face," she said.
