"I have played the flute for six years and I am in several music clubs including orchestra, flute ensemble and local music club so hopefully I can continue that here in Australia," Lenia said.
"I also played tennis and have I just started playing volleyball back home so I might see if I can play those as well.
"In winter I like to ski and snowboard and I also like swimming and horseback riding but I am hoping to learn how to surf while I am here."
In addition to speaking German, Lenia speaks English, French and Spanish and said she is keen to travel while she is in the Hastings.
"Travelling is one of my favorite activities, so I do it a lot in my free time," she said.

"While I was in America and Australia I loved seeing the sights and meeting new people."
She said she is positive that the next 12 months will be filled with fun and new experiences.
