NSW Police say the vehicle collided with a small wooden bridge at around 10.30pm.
Inspector Stuart Campbell from Kempsey Police said the collision left the vehicle "teetering over the bridge" until it eventually slid forward, with the vehicle falling three metres on its roof.
Luckily the male driver and his three passengers managed to free themselves.
Shortly after the vehicle caught alight.
A fire crew from Telegraph Point attended the scene as well as NSW Police and Ambulance.
One of three passengers was taken to Port Macquarie Base Hospital with minor head and shoulder injuries and was later discharged.
Inspector Campbell described it as a "lucky escape" with the four people walking away relatively unscathed.
