It means total annual prizemoney to be paid for country racing in NSW will now be more than $81 million which is an increase of $48 million or 145 per cent since 2012.
Country racing has received the largest increase of any sector during this time.
Port Macquarie trainer Jenny Graham said it was a "terrific" decision.
"Any incentive like that for country trainers out your back door it's terrific really," she said.
"It's around us, we haven't got to do all the travelling and that's a bonus on its own where you can have a crack at that sort of money in your home area."
The Port Macquarie Cup feature race prizemoney will jump from $150,000 to $200,000 this year while the Port Macquarie Sprint will have a $10,000 increase, as will the Open Handicap.
The Country Magic will increase from $30,000 to $50,000 overall.
"It's terrific if we can acquire the horses that match up to it," Graham said.
Graham admitted it would mean the race fields would be stronger although that would be of benefit to country racing overall.
"Naturally it's making racing in the country stronger and stronger because they'll just come from everywhere," she said.
"It makes it tougher (to win) when the city and provincial trainers come out (as well), but it's progress."
